Our Reach 2010-2018
Alumni Career Paths
All participants in Teach For Bulgaria’s program teach for a period of two years at schools where students need them in order to develop their skills and knowledge. Beyond these two years Teach For Bulgaria alumni continue their work towards positive change in education and every child’s access to quality education by:
TEACHING AT SCHOOL
and helping their students develop key skills and mindsets and increase their motivation to learn
Our alumni work with their students every day and help them develop key skills and mindsets. They also aim at increasing children’s motivation to learn.
Their work at school gives them the opportunity to build their capacity and expertise as effective teachers and to prove that a person can accomplish a lot in the classroom
TAKING LEADERSHIP POSITIONS AT SCHOOL OR AT OTHER GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS
which allows them to impact more people and processes at the school and regional level
CREATING AND DEVELOPING NEW EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS,
which address different challenges preventing children from having equal access to quality education
by working at respectable organizations, participating in conferences, and writing handbooks and projects which reach many professionals in the system
Some of our alumni work as experts in the following educational and advocacy organizations:
The White Paper called “How to Recruit, Train, and Retain Successful Teachers” consists of best practices for recruitment, selection, training, and support of motivated teachers inspired by the experience of our organization and some of the participants in the program.
The handbook consists of useful resources and best practices on teaching functional literacy at school. The compilation was created by Teach For Bulgaria alumni as part of the Functional Literacy in the 21st Century project, part of the framework for the support of NGOs in Bulgaria and the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism for 2009-2014.
The conference has been organized by Education Bulgaria 2030 and Teach For Bulgaria since 2012. This forum brings together international and Bulgarian education experts, representatives of the public and private sectors, teachers, and principals in order to give them the opportunity to discuss different topics related to the quality of education and how to make it better.
The goals of the project are to test innovative ways for the recruitment of new talents in the teaching profession, to build the foundation for effective, easy to implement, and flexible alternative pathways to teacher qualification programs, and to map out the conditions which have to be met in order to turn these “alternative pathways” into educational policies at the EU level.
