Evgenia Peeva-Kirova


Evgenia Peeva-Kirova launched Teach For Bulgaria and recruited the start-up team in the summer of 2010 with the generous support of America for Bulgaria Foundation. Prior to that, right after graduating from college, Evgenia worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company where she advised companies in the technology, pharmaceuticals, industrial electronics, and non-profit sector on strategy, marketing, sales, and operations.

Evgenia Peeva-Kirova graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2008. Her senior thesis focused on exploring the factors and impact of institutional entrepreneurship in university reforms in post-1989 Central Eastern Europe. She has also Masters degree in Educational Management from Plovdiv University.

In 2007, Evgenia Peeva-Kirova co-founded the Step for Bulgaria Foundation, a volunteer driven initiative which engages young and seasoned professionals in supporting skills development and personal growth of youth living without parental care. Evgenia was voted Woman of the Year in the Community category in 2012 and listed in various prestigious rankings, incl: the Forbes Bulgaria ranking 30 under 30 in 2013, Darik Radio ranking 40 under 40 in 2014 and various rankings of most influential women in Bulgaria. She currently sits on the Board of Trustees of the American College of Sofia, where she went to high school until 2004.
